Powercor Asset Inspection and Maintenance Services

In June 2015, Electrix achieved a major milestone with the renewal of the Asset Inspection contract servicing Powercor and Citipower. This contract renewal built upon the strong relationship enjoyed with Powercor over almost 18 years of providing similar services in their network area.

The contract has progressively expanded and today involves inspection of approximately 180,000 poles per annum under a combination of 5 year and 2.5 year cycles.

Powercor & CitiPower Construction and Maintenance Services

Electrix has been consistently undertaking construction and maintenance activities on both the Powercor and CitiPower distribution networks for a period which now extends beyond twelve years. This successful long-term relationship was first formalised in 2001 with the signing of a ‘Period Works Partnering Agreement’ with Powercor. That initial agreement has subsequently been successfully renewed and extended on a number of occasions with the latest contract agreement running to July 2018.

Glenelg Tram Overpass - South Road

This Glenelg Tram Overpass project was a major initiative by the South Australian Government to both improve the Glenelg tram service and reduce congestion on the busy South Road corridor.

The development of the overpass required the construction of a parallel temporary running track in July, and the subsequent construction of the new permanent track once the overpass bridge was complete.

As main contractor for the project, McConnell Dowell brought Electrix on board to install the overhead traction power supply and provide associated electrical installations. The strong focus by Electrix on quality and safety were key factors in our appointment.
